  • Do You Ever Feel Like Your Brain Never Shuts Down?

Most mornings, I take my cup of coffee to my quiet space in the backyard. I sit in my rocking chair watching the birds play in the birth bath for several minutes before the day fully starts demanding things from me.

Then I move to the pink desk overlooking the backyard and plan my day.

It’s quiet for maybe fifteen minutes.

My coffee is hot. The day is peaceful and full of hope.

And for a second, before the emails, the laundry, the grocery list, the business notifications, and somebody hollering “Mom?” from another room, I can actually hear myself think.
